Chira Designs was founded in 2001 by Carol Hirashima in Santa Barbara, California. After graduating from college, she spent many years producing and editing independent programming for the Discovery Channel, including numerous "Shark Week" episodes.

It was Carol's love of Technology and the Arts that led her to launch her own company. What began as a hobby soon turned into a full fledged business with accounts in boutiques and galleries across the United States from Maine to Hawaii.

Carol's unique fabrics of whimsical, Asian, classical, and resort themes are embodied in her yoga bags, totes, purses, cosmetic bags and accessories. Her durable and functional pieces will last for many years. Enjoy!
